Getting started with Office 365

I use the Small Business version of Office 365 for email, cloud storage and productivity apps. I think it’s a bargain at $13.50 per month.
Microsoft announced a week or so ago that storage was increasing. Skydrive Pro goes up from 7GB to 25GB and Exchange quotas are up from 25GB to 50GB. Bargain!
Could it get any better? Yes – schools and colleges get Office 365 for FREE. Biggest bargain ever!

I have recently started working with a number of schools in Western Australia, helping to develop their use of Office 365 for learning and teaching. Starting next week I will be writing a series of blog posts with examples, tips, and ideas. The three main reasons why schools are moving to Office 365:

  • Communication and Collaboration – email, news, blogs, wikis, discussion boards, and instant messaging are all included.
  • Learning Management – set, submit and mark homework all in the browser; resources available anytime, anywhere; easily save notes and photos from your tablet or phone on the move.
  • Cost Saving – move your email and personal storage to the cloud; do all the above for free.
